In April 2004 I volunteered for the new position of Photographer at my workplace. My boss said "okay, we'll see how you go for a few months" and my photographic career began - Lucky !!!
Photo-journalism has become my preferred photographic genre. Portraiture and wilderness photography come a close second. My photographic work covers community, sports and media events, official portraits, citizenships and other ceremonies and launches, and any other images required for publication by a large organisation.
I spend much of my spare time with my 2 teenage daughters, and weekend day trips provide many photographic opportunities. I'm also a keen bushwalker and always carry a camera and tripod when I'm 'gone bush'.
I love to have people in my photographs - even in landscapes. I think a figure in a landscape has the ability to create context in an image. The exception to this idea is the Tasmanian wilderness, which is dramatic enough to speak for itself.
