ABOUT THE MELBOURNE AND
SYDNEY JEWISH RENEWAL ORGANISATIONS
Jewish Renewal in Melbourne is currently carried out by two
groups, one based at the Leo Baeck Centre at 37 Harp Rd Kew East and one based at Temple Beth Israel
at 76 Alma Rd St.Kilda.
The groups are
grateful for the use of facilities of
the Union of Progressive Judaism and their support.
The groups seek to attract Jews with all varieties of Jewish
belief (including atheists) who have an interest in the Jewish Renewal
Philosophy, as well as non-Jews who have an interest in Jewish Renewal.

Currently the core group consists of Dorothea Tropp-Boas and
Bern Boas at LBC and Eva Light and Fred Tropp at TBI. The four of us work
together as well to create Meditation sessions, Retreats and Jewish Renewal
services at TBI and LBC and other places. We are ably assisted by several other
regular attendees from our activities.
Jewish Renewal in Melbourne was started at LBC over six
years ago and then spread to TBI. Rabbi Aviva Bass instituted Jewish Renewal
Services at TBI in 2001-2002 and was actively involved until she left TBI. The
group members have since taken over that function.
All events are for both beginners and experienced people and
are open to all.
For further information email Dorothea or Bern at boas@netspace.net.au or Fred at ftropp@vtown.com.au or Eva at literite@bigpond.com
All events are free unless otherwise stated.
All events are participatory learning and teaching
experiences. Attendees are strongly encouraged to lead segments on topics or
areas that interest them whether these are developed by you or are from the
Renewal Siddur or other sources. Contact the information emails above to
arrange your participation in any of the activities. The continuation of these activities depends on your
participation.
