WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE IN A JEWISH RENEWAL SERVICE?

In a Jewish Renewal Shabbat Service we:

q use a Jewish Renewal Shabbat Siddur, by Rabbi Marcia Prager. (Copies are provided at the service).

q chant Hebraic phrases accompanied by a harmonium, CD or percussion instruments

q present and discuss spiritual texts

q perform movements to chants or music

q have silent and guided meditations

q read Torah and discuss the Parasha

q sing songs with wonderful melodies

The services last two hours. Usually about 8 to 16 people attend.

The sessions are for both beginners and experienced meditators.
