ACT SR CLUB 51 - The Easter Monday Ride

Another ride…to Bungendore for Coffee…

4 SR500s, a Katana 1100, and a Yam 250 Virago turned up for the ride to Bungendore for a coffee at the caf...

John rode his G model, Denis his US E model, Dave ‘the returnee’ rode his newly acquired 86 model (I think?)…replete with Magura clip-ons, front and rear drums and factory rear-sets…good to see you back mate…Stew was on his E model café racer, Mal rode his 1100 Katana, and Nev came along on his new 250 Virago…mate I can see a 500 single in your future!

Sus mob here...

Allister made some lame excuse for non-attendance going along the lines that it was probably going to rain or something…so he stayed away. Slack mate, slack! The polished alloy is starting to break his spirit…heh, heh…they say contact with aluminium alloy affects your brain in the long run…

We all set of with Stew in the lead, via the Barton Hwy, Nanima Road, Murrumbateman Road, onto Spring Range Road across the Federal to Bungendore the back way. A nice ride and not bad weather.

Stopping at the ‘caf’ we usually frequent in the warmer weather, much coffee, tea and hot chockie was consumed and motorcycle discussions abounded. The usual tall stories were told and all round a good time was had.

Think I might try a ride on a 500...Nev and Mal again...

Denis smiles in his newly acquired Yam T shirt...

Hey Mal, did you see that helmet move?

The return ride was initially toward the highway and Mac’s Reef Road, before a turn-off onto Norton Road changed all that. Along Norton to Sutton Road, right then a cruise to the service road for the highway and back into Canberra.

Here the bikes split up to head to their various locations as the weather was beginning to deteriorate…hmm, where was that Alister…

A quiet ride but good fun and there were 4 SRs along to boot. Adding up the Sunday VVCMCC ride of the day before where about 3 or 4 SRs turned up as well as Manfred’s SZR660, meant a good weekend for the Yam singles all round!

The next ride at the moment is another VVCMCC ride that’s listed in the Calendar. See you there!

‘till next time,
